 What is our vision?

It’s not always the size of the church that  always matters, it’s the eyes of the church! Because without a vison people perish. No matter how big or small they may be. So, what then is our vision, what are we, should we be seeing? Our very name reveals and speaks to our vision. First to connect people to Jesus. Jesus must be the most important part of our lives which also means that the things of God are a top priority. People need Jesus. We need Jesus. I need Jesus. Secondly to connect us together (connect inward). We are a family, while sometimes families disagree, even fuss, families stick together. We are the family of God, and we need to connect to one another regardless of the past or what has happened to us. God is looking for a unified body. Thirdly, we want to be a church that connects to our community. Offering hope, help and direction to those who are hurting. We are doing this through our Home Missions project.

 What is our mission?

Mission is what we do here at CPCOG. Our mission is threefold. One is to be a Spiritual Hospital. A place where people can get help. Sometimes getting help, hurts, is uncomfortable, can be costly, many times there are guidelines to follow just like going to a hospital. The doctor tells us things that may be hard to hear. The doctor my say you need surgery, or rehab. They may write you a prescription. But each of these might just save your life. Our Mission is to be a spiritual hospital. Secondly, we are to be a spiritual grocery store. If we only eat one meal a week we will become weak, we will be sickly and not have the strength to work, live or fight off disease. We eat more than once a week, so we go to the store and get what we need in order to have food throughout the week. The church is a place that we get spiritual food, we get what our soul feed! Sure the flesh wants candy, sugar chocolate, all the good tasting stuff (and there is a time for that) but if that’s all we get it will lead to spiritual diabetes and soul decay. We must get the meat, vegetables, vitamins and the things that are good for our soul. Thirdly, our mission is to be a spiritual gas station. Just like a car needs fuel, oil changes, maintenance, and sometimes repairs and new parts to keep it running properly, safely and efficiently we too need spiritual tunes ups, fills ups and maintenance.

What is our focus?

We have talked about our vision; what we want to experience here. We have talked about our mission; what we do here at CPCOG. But what is our focus? What is our reason for being here? Our focus is to win the lost! To see souls saved, lives changed. Our focus cannot be about what we want, or what we like. Our focus cannot be on what has been or what might have been. Our focus must be on what Jesus’ focus was. Seek and save the lost. Anything else we focus on we have missed the call of God. He has called us, equipped us and enabled us to win the lost. We should not focus on the past wither it was good or bad. We can reflect on it, but never focus on it. Music, boards, programs, meeting, finances and events all have their place. But the focus is reaching the lost. The Bible even tells us He that wins souls is wise, and that the wise man built upon the rock which is Christ Jesus. I want to be wise.

,
We believe
In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
In one God eternally existing in three persons: namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
That justification regeneration and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
In water baptism by immersion. and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Divine healing is provided for all in the Atonement.
In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First. to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
In the bodily resurrection. eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
